By the wind and against

During the first weekend of September, a strong girl team of #Fajne Babki from Delia took part in the 13th Lewiatan Confederation Sailing Regatta. The event took place in the beautiful scenery of Masurian Lake Bełdany, in convenient Mila Kamień sailing base. A total of 37 perfectly prepared company teams took part in the races and fought for victory on Antila27 type yachts all Saturday. Emotions were high…

However, the idea of Lewiatan Confederation Regatta is not only sports competition, but also integration, networking and above all… great fun. Delia’s crew, led by an experienced helmsman – Marek Spiżewski, demonstrated the ability to handle both.

We gained points not only thanks to hard work on the sails, but also joyful singing to the accompaniment of the guitar and spontaneous integration with crews from other yachts and companies. Saturday’s wind with a speed of up to 5 knots allowed to organise six consecutive runs, which were severely scored by the judging boat and closely watched by Life Guards. Thanks to the latter we felt safe, and thanks to the great organization of aprés sailing time, we could relax by the evening fire and listen to shanties.

How did it go? Very well of course! We won the 15th place in the regatta and also received two unobvious awards – for Masters of Guitar and Integration! So, we brought three commemorative statuettes plus a whole lot of exciting memories from this Masurian getaway. We hope that next year we will meet again at the lake with an even larger Delia sailing team!
